The brand Burfitt was created in 1998 in Stockholm under the impulse of Lovisa Burfitt. It was re-launched in 2003 in Paris by Lovisa herself in collaboration with sales executive Kajsa Leanderson.
But Lovisa Burfitt is also an illustrator. Consequently, she first imagined a limited series of silkscreen printed t-shirts and other products. Her print shirts were so popular that Burfitt fleshed out her line. Her casual yet luxurious clothing line is, to the contrary of her print t-shirts produced in important quantities. Lovisa Burfitt enjoys mixing raw and noble materials in her creations for evermore refinement and freshness.
Her illustrations is a strange charming mix of frivolity and dark elegance.
Louisa illustrations have also been published in books on illustration, Fashion Illustration by Fashion Designers by Laird Borrelli.
